Padmanaban (Padhu) is a Kinetic Control Accredited Movement Therapist
and a Kinetic Control Tutor.
Padmanaban completed his MSc in Physiotherapy with distinction (First Msc PT student of the University to achieve this level) from Keele University, UK, where he also worked as a researcher. He got introduced to Kinetic Control, while studying for his Masters at Keele. He believes that movement and movement based assessment & treatment is going to define the future of physiotherapy profession, this belief was reinforced by listening to the lectures of Mark & Sarah at the University. As a part of his masters Padmanaban started to focus more on movement dysfunction and motor control approach. His masters thesis exploring the role of motor control approach for patello-femoral pain syndrome was marked as ‘a challenging and ambitious research project of standard appropriate for international peer-reviewed publication’ and it lead to an award of overall distinction in his MSc.
PPadmanaban has over 12 years of extensive clinical experience most of which is from one of the premier tertiary care teaching hospitals in India, St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bangalore where he served under various roles including Senior Physiotherapist & In charge of the physiotherapy section. His area of work is predominantly musculo-skeletal physiotherapy and his clinical expertise includes manual therapy and sports injury rehabilitation. In addition to clinical practice he is also involved in teaching and mentoring students and colleagues in clinical skills. Padmanaban has presented scientific papers in various conferences and published original articles in international indexed journals. He has also been invited as a guest speaker/ faculty/ resource person in international/ national/ state level conferences/seminars & workshops.
Presently, he has started “Movement Control Solutions” a consultation firm specializing in consultancy services for movement control and sports performance. Through this firm Padmanaban promotes Kinetic Control education and The Performance Matrix in India and the Middle East.
