  • Carla Danielle Chagas

< Team Carla Danielle Chagas Kinetic Control Tutor Note English, Portuguese Note Brazil SUMMARY Carla Danielle Chagas is a Brazilian based clinician and tutor with a vast experience of both clinical practice and movement focused education. As a physiotherapist with her own practice in Rio de Janeiro, Carla has also been delivering courses since 2001 to a range of clinical and non-clinical movement professionals. BIOGRAPHY If you asked Carla to describe her work in one sentence, she would say, “I like to make a difference in people´s lives, promoting awareness and education to help them move and feel better in their own body” This mix of movement and awareness is something Carla has a long history of. With a background in both ballet and Spanish dancing, she has always been involved in sports, a journey leading her to study physiotherapy, and allowing to build on her passion for kinesiology and the development of movement based interventions. In 2000, after further developing her clinical expertise in Brazil, she became the first Brazilian to attend and complete the Masters programme at Queensland University, Australia. Carla identifies this course further progressed her clinical skill set and was followed by invitations to be a guest speaker at national and international congresses and workshops in addition to a teaching role at her alma mater university in Rio. Carla’s expertise has also created demand for her clinical skills oversea, as she was invited to work treating athletes and delivering clinical workshops at the Guanzhou Olympic Center in China, from 2005 to 2007. Her desire to communicate the power of movement within the clinical environment inspired her to organise 4 conferences in Brazil (Musculoskeletal and Sports Congress), creating opportunities for many physiotherapists from all over South America to be in contact with international keynote speakers. Still working with a wide clinical population, she continues to harness movement to help her patients manage and overcome musculoskeletal issues and chronic pain problems. The opportunity to deliver Kinetic Control courses allows her to gather all her professional skills and experience within this systemized clinical framework to help other clinicians realise more robust Movement Health for their patients and clients.

< Back THE MOVEMENT SOLUTION THE ‘FAST TRACK’ ROUTE TO MASTERING THE KINETIC CONTROL PROCESS This intensive series is designed to help therapists manage the complexity of pain and realise functional performance. The courses are built around a systemised framework that puts movement into your clinical expertise. These are standalone course to can be attended in any order. The Movement Solution One The Movement Solution Two The Movement Solution Three Anchor 1 THE MOVEMENT SOLUTION ONE Most clinical presentations possess complexity and the unique characteristics of an individual’s movement must be considered within this multi-factorial mix. Kinetic Control’s clinical reasoning framework sets out to respect each individual presentation and manage the associated complexity through the systemised assessment and retraining of movement alongside other factors. This course identifies where movement fits into the clinical picture and develops a robust reasoning process for each clinician with a focus on developing movement system expertise: assessment, retraining and integration. Attention is given to the spinal regions, lumbar and neck and the hip and shoulder with over 100 hours of face to face contact. Specific focus is given to the evaluation of movement patterns and muscle synergies which may play a significant role in the compromised function and recurrence. Central to the course are currently popular themes long-championed by those who place a value on the use of movement in the contemporary clinical setting. Complete The Movement Solution One and become certified as a Kinetic Control Movement Therapist (KCMT). Find Out More And Book Anchor 2 THE MOVEMENT SOLUTION TWO A start to finish clinical approach that supplies solutions to complex problems of the thorax, ribs and pelvis. Assessment, retraining and integration into rigorous clinical framework will give you confidence and expertise in your ability to address presentations in this complex region. The relationship between movement patterns, muscle synergies and restrictions are explored and considered with the presentation of compromised function, pain and recurrence. This will steer targeted interventions for managing these presentations including long standing, complex and recurrent problems. Explore the connections between the upper and lower extremity, and trunk. Find Out More And Book Anchor 3 THE MOVEMENT SOLUTION THREE The third course in the series builds on our clinical framework to help you further optimise your clinical skill set. Through assessment of movement patterns, muscle synergies and restrictions systems and movement retraining, it seeks to match each individual to the most the efficient clinical intervention so as to address presentations of the elbow, forearm, wrist and hand and the lower leg. A unique mix, addressing persistent presentations associated to these complex regions through the employment of targeted movement interventions of the upper limb and lower leg. Can those limited or lost movement choices be restored?” These are some of the questions which Kari has been asking and pondering since he started his career as a physiotherapist. Kari realized quite quickly that manual therapy by itself is not the long-term solution for people with pain and activity limitations. He has been undertaking lectures and tutoring on courses within therapeutic exercise with the Finnish Organisation of Manual Therapy (SOMTY ry). Kari has been responsible for the development of a number of therapeutic exercise courses for Orthopaedic Manual Therapy students in Finland. He also works as a clinician treating patients from all walks of life, including both children and adults as well as amateur and professional athletes. His message is also 'never give up'. In the Finnish language there is a good word to describe that, 'SISU'
