AN INTERVIEW WITH MICHAL HADALA

26th February 2014

An interview with Michal Hadala and his views and experience with Kinetic Control. Here is just a snip from the full pdf.

Background of Michal Hadala

Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Physiotherapy and European Doctor Sport in Applied Sciences at the University of Valencia and internationally accredited Teacher for Kinetic Control. He has extensive background working with athletes all over world and a proven track record in the management of injuries with musculoskeletal patients of different ages, conditions and skills. He has been a professional footballer and has travelled the world conducting courses and as a consultant for different sports teams. He also has numerous publications impact on prestigious journals of sports medicine in the U.S., England and other European countries for example; "Journal Of Sports Science", "British Journal of Sports Medicine," "European Journal Of Applied Physiology" "Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise". Just co-published his first book in Castilian, "Environment Pilates and back pain."

KINETIC CONTROL - could you explain some of the history and development of this method?

This school of thought within the Physiotherapy follows in the footsteps of the illustrious American physiotherapist Shirley Sahrmann, the first to classify dysfunctions - abnormal movements and how they relate to different patient presentations. For over 19 years Mark Comerford and Sarah Mottram have directed their investigations to the rating of sound and reliable ways to evaluate dysfunctions and abnormal movements. The fruit of their labour was seen embodied in "Kinetic Control" movement and in the book "Kinetic Control: The Management of Uncontrolled Movement".

Kinetic Control is fully consolidated in many parts of the world as an effective method in rehabilitation of neuromusculoskeletal faults. Although still relatively little is known of it in Spain, but gradually it is being used because of its undeniable scientific evidence.

How did you decide to become a teacher international KINETIC CONTROL?

It was through my own personal experience, looking for proper rehabilitation for my repeated back problem, which cut short my career as a footballer. I travelled around the world searching for the "holy grail" in the treatment of spinal injuries and I became convinced of the effectiveness of the method after trying it myself. I underwent treatment with KC and although at first I was a little sceptical, after three weeks I felt was being treated the correct way. After three months I could return to performing activities in my normal daily life and sport thanks to my improved lumbar spine control. That's how I went from patient to Professor KC, convinced of the effectiveness of treatment, I began an intensive education changing my therapeutic approach for ever, and treating patients with KC.

An essential question: how would you define the essence of KINETIC CONTROL?

The essence of KC is the search for movement control through assessment and diagnosis. The most important concepts of our work are the “core control”, the "Motor control", the "biomechanics" or "dynamic stability" all based on the neuromuscular facilitation system. All these concepts are being investigated continuously and its theoretical and practical application is the subject of an empirical scientific proof.
